Listen guys, the Secret Service sniper took a shot and presumably missed the assailant. The assailant goes onto to get off 10 shots. Watch as Trump's hand goes to his ear immediately after the sniper's shot and milliseconds before the assailant's shots.

Supposedly, Trump raised his hand to his ear as a reflex to having been shot. Trump has been quoted as saying, “I immediately felt the bullet ripping through my skin”.
